  • Library: Coffee Wednesdays
    10:00 am 1:00 pm TWEEN Time Wednesday’s – 12:00 pm. Join us around the fireplace for a cup of coffee or iced tea.
  • Jester Park: Summer Skills – Geocaching
    10:00 am – 12:00 pm. Summer is about having fun and playing outside. Join PCC naturalists as they introduce your 10-16 year old to some fun outdoor activities which can be enjoyed the rest of their lives. Geocaching – Geocaching is a high tech scavenger hunt using GPS. Come learn the basics and try finding several geocaches hidden just for you. Come to one or sign-up for an entire series. All equipment will be provided. Pre-registration required. Fee: $10. Register online >
  • Library: Tween Time
    1:00 pm. Jump into some crafts, activities, and discussions for ages 10 and up.  Activities include making blankets and fairy gardens for the nursing home, origami activities and more!!!!!
  • FREE MEDICAL CLINIC
    6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Located inside Polk City United Methodist Church. Clinic staffed by volunteer healthcare providers. No insurance filed, $5 donation appreciated. Come in for sports physicals, school physicals, immunizations, or ill visits.

  • Library: Human Trafficking: An Iowa Perspective
    7:00 pm. Presenters from Teens Against Human Trafficking will introduce attendees to human trafficking in Iowa, with a focus on the youth perspective. Attendees will learn about the process of recruitment, grooming, and control, and what indicators may point to human trafficking. Attendees will also learn what risk factors make young people more vulnerable to trafficking. Finally, speakers will describe efforts to prevent human trafficking and identify victims in our schools and what services are available for victims.   *Ages 15 and over welcome to attend.

  • Jester Park: Wild Night Life & Hike
    8:30 pm – 10:30 pm. Join us for a campfire program about the wild night life in Jester Park. A short hike will follow as we search for some of these nocturnal animals. Afterward enjoy eating s ‘mores around the campfire. Pre-registration required; deadline is July 19. Fee: $5. Register online >
