  • City Hall: Council Meetings
    City Council 2nd & 4th Mondays at 6:30 pm. Parks Commission 1st Monday at 6:00 pm. Planning and Zoning 3rd Monday at 6:00 pm. All meetings are held in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 112 3rd St. All meetings are open to the public and anyone interested in them is encouraged to attend. Click here for agendas & minutes >
  • Library: Monday Night Book Club
    7:00 pm. The Little Paris Bookshop by Nina George. Monsieur Perdu can prescribe the perfect book for a broken heart. But can he fix his own?

    10:30 am. Ages 2-5.

Wednesday, October 18

  • Library: Coffee Wednesdays
    10:00 am – 12:00 pm. Join us around the fireplace for a cup of coffee or iced tea.
  • Free Medical Clinic
    6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Located inside Polk City United Methodist Church. Clinic staffed by volunteer healthcare providers. No insurance filed, $5 donation appreciated. Come in for sports physicals, school physicals, immunizations, or ill visits.
  • Library: Friends of the Library Quarterly Meeting
    6:30 pm. The Friends of the Polk City Community Library have four scheduled meetings per year. All meetings are open to members and the public. Anyone interested in supporting the Library is welcome and encouraged to attend.

Thursday, October 19

    6:00 pm. Bring your needlework and join us for the evening! All levels of stitchers welcome.
  • Library: SHIIP Welcome to Medicare

This two hour seminar will cover Medicare Part A and Part B benefits, the prescription drug benefit (Part D), Medicare Advantage plans and Medicare supplement insurance. *SHIIP, the Senior Health Insurance Information Program, is a service of the State of Iowa.   • Kiwanis of Polk City
    6:30 pm. Meets every 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month at 6:30 pm at the Miller Park Shelter House.  Get to know your community and people in it while serving the children in our community through various programs.  Learn more on our web site:  www.kiwanisclubpc.blogspot.com, email soxjk@q.com or attend our Thursday meeting.
