  • Duck Call training for kids by a state champion.
  • Watch dogs retrieve from the water and also pointing for in field training.
  • Games to play like Bean Bag Toss, Ladder game, Plinko, and Pluck-a-duck.
  • Also, there will be rides in a 28 foot Limo thanks to Blu Nite Limo Service.
  • Free Hot Dogs and Hamburgers will be served at this event.

Participants had a great time and it was energizing to see so many people enjoying themselves and having fun as a family.  We had participation from [...]]]> North Polk Central Elementary School held its 2nd Annual Walk n’ Run 5K on Saturday, April 21, 2012. It was a fun filled morning for kids and adults. Participants had a great time and it was energizing to see so many people enjoying themselves and having fun as a family.  We had participation from all over the district and outside participants as well.  We hope to continue the tradition next year and appreciate all of the support for the students at Central.  We want to thank everyone who participated and supported the students at Central Elementary.

We had a time clock running and the unofficial top runners of the day were:

  • Men – Greg Bell 16:41
  • Women – Mary Maassen 23:13
  • Boys – 16 to 11 – Wes Lesher 24:00
  • Girls – 16 to 11 – Amelia Lesher 24:11
  • Boys – 10 and under Thomas Jones 23:03
  • Girls – 10 and under Sydney Weers 32:41

Congratulations to all our runners and walkers! Many wonderful volunteers helped make the day run smoothly and it was all made possible because of them. Many wonderful businesses and people sponsored the Walk n’ Run 5K and this could not have taken place without them.  The Elkhart Fire Department was there interacting with the community; NP cheerleaders warmed up the crowd and put NP tattoos on all the kids.  Many other volunteers helped make the day a success.  We truly appreciate all of their hard work and dedication.

We had wonderful door prizes and refreshments after the 5K. Many businesses and people donated time, prizes, food, or money to make this event a success. We want to give a heartfelt thank you to all of them!
